Marketing: Market research analyst


The successful candidate will join the Market Research and Analysis unit, which is part of the UOC's Marketing department, as a market research analyst.


• Identify and analyse the needs and trends of the competitive environment.
• Perform competition analyses to foresee opportunities and threats.
• Process, handle and analyse information; automate processes; and integrate data from different sources.
• Profile analysis.
• Market research on new products.
• Other tasks typical of a market research and analysis department.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract, with an expected start date of January 2022.

The workplace will be in Barcelona. However, because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the person selected will work from home until the circumstances change.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in market research and analysis, statistics, business administration and management, psychology, economics, computer engineering or similar.
• Minimum experience of two years in similar roles.
• Knowledge of statistics applied to business.
• Experience working with and using substantial amounts of data to answer specific questions linked to an institution's strategy.
• Proficiency working with data visualization tools.
• English language skills of at least CEFR level B2, or First Certificate equivalent.
• Advanced analytical skills, knowledge of market research and business management, and proficiency in new technologies applied to marketing.
• Highly business and results oriented.
• High level of initiative, organizational and teamwork skills, entrepreneurial vision, and the ability to identify new opportunities and think innovatively.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks, work on a project basis and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to find answers from a large amount of information.
• Interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present complex analyses clearly and simply to multidisciplinary teams.

We also value:

• Programming experience.
• Previous experience in the university academic sphere.
• Knowledge of the UOC's educational model.
