IN3: BODI project Research Assistant

The selected person will join as a Research Assistant for the project “Bots to interact with open data - Conversational interfaces to facilitate access to public data” at the SOM Research Lab. in the IN3 of the University.

The project seeks to empower all citizens to exploit and benefit from open data while proposing to take advantage of the latest technological advances in conversational interfaces (ie chatbots and voicebots) so that citizens can ask any questions they need answer in natural language.

With direct dependence on the Principal Investigator of the project, the following tasks must be performed:
- 1. Research the different applications of chatbots for the exploitation of open data
- 2. Implementation of a chatbot generator based on the definition of an open data source
- 3. Adaptation of pre-trained language models to complement the generated chatbot
- 4. Validation of the usability of the chatbot

There will be a 1-year full-time contract (38.5 hours/week) with a view to joining in January 2022.
The reference job will be the headquarters of the UOC in Poblenou, Barcelona (District 22@), with an agreed telework.

What we are looking for:

- Computer Engineering
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge of the concepts of chatbots and natural language models
- Experience working and creating bots and extensions with the free software platform Xatkit
- Experience in the use of language models for different tasks related to the analysis of natural language
