Accounting and Finance: Financial officer specializing in tax matters

Description:

The successful candidate will join the UOC's Accounting and Finance department as a financial officer specializing in tax matters.

Responsibilities:
• Helping to review criteria for integration into the financial management system of any financial information generated by other management systems (invoicing and payments from/to clients and suppliers).
• Ensuring proper coordination with the remaining Accounting and Finance teams, and informing them of tax criteria affecting them.
• Drawing up financial statements.
• Helping to fulfil obligations regarding financial reporting to third parties.
• Acting as the University's main point of reference with regard to tax matters.
• Responding to and resolving internal tax-related queries, providing a response to demands and/or notifications from official bodies, with support from external advisors where necessary.
• Preparing, settling and accounting for tax payments.
• Carrying out any assigned projects relating to the group's activities.


The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract, and should be available to start immediately.

The workplace will be in Barcelona. Nevertheless, the UOC is a remote-first institution, so the default option is to work from home, with on-site work as and when required or necessary.


What we are looking for:

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, business studies or similar.
• At least 3 years' experience in a finance department, knowledge of the full accounting cycle and expertise in tax matters.
• Experience using ERP software.
• Advanced office application skills.
• English language skills to at least CEFR level B2, or First Certificate equivalent.
• Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• A high level of initiative and autonomy and a proactive approach.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, with a goal-oriented approach.

We also value:

• Knowledge of the UOC's educational model.
• Experience in the service sector.
